This selection of rods is a very condensed quantity of what is available to the customer. Each manufacturer that I use such as Batson, Sage, G.Loomis, StCroix, have many different models and actions to choose from, each with a specific purpose. Give me a call or write an e-mail with your specifications and I will promptly return a price quotation. All rods are delivered with a Forest Green, cloth lined, heavy canvas covered PVC rod case.
Fly rods designed for heavier freshwater use can be seen in the
Saltwater Fly Rod section. The heavier freshwater rods and saltwater rods have a different shaped and longer grip, a heavier reel seat and some form of a "fighting butt" behind the reel seat. The stripping and running guides are larger to allow "shooting" of the line as needed for the particular fishing situation. On some heavy saltwater fly rods, sometimes called "bluewater" rods, there may be a second grip, forward of the casting grip, that allows the fisherman the fight the fish by grasping further up the rod to gain the advantage of better leverage.
