Each fly rod is fitted with a stainless steel framed, ceramic top as shown at left. The top insert is made of Zirconia and then plated by a special process in the colors shown. (Gold-TiCh - Blue) The frame is plated by a special process with Titanium Chrome (TiCh) which resembles a subtle gunsmoke color. These top inserts will withstand the abrasion of any fly line and will never wear out.

These six guide images show the quality of the epoxy wrap finishes. No thread is ever visible through the finish and as shown, at the ends of the wrap, the finish is placed over the thread and onto the blank to properly seal the wrap from moisture penetration. ALL wraps and finishes are applied by hand without the aid of any rod wrapping machine. After the epoxy is applied, the rod is placed in a rod turner that rotates to allow the finish to cure evenly.

For a complete chart of the NCP thread colors that I have, go to this part of the GUDEBROD website and see the display of NCP threads. Most of the color schemes on my fly rods are reserved and subtle, but, if you like something very flashy - I can do that too!! - Just let me know what you would like.
The running guides are of the conventional snake design and are Titanium Chrome (TiCh) plated to match the frames of the stripping guides.

The stripping guides have stainless steel frames that are (TiCh) plated with the same process as the tops and are of the Hi-V or conventional low profile construction. The inserts in theses guides are the same qualities and colors as the tops.

Other tip top and stripping guide options include either the standard chrome plating or Titanium Chrome with the aluminum oxide charcoal colored insert.
