Artistic Designs in Custom Fly Rods

Now that you have made the decision to own a fine piece of fishing equipment, let's get to the business end of the deal. And please also remember, this is a custom rod that YOU wanted and it probably won't be one that someone else would want. So with that thought in mind, please decide seriously because unfortunately, returns will not be allowed.

Since your fly rod will be customized to your specifications, personal contact with me should be part of the initial design. In producing this website, I have tried to be as thorough as possible but may not have answered all of your questions and concerns. If this is the case, please feel free to contact me by one of the options below.

Shop Phone:  (540) 965-3976 (Charlie)
If not answered immediately, just leave a message and I will return your call as soon as possible. Please include all important information in the message so I can contact you promptly.

E-Mail:
TightLineRods@aol.com - Feel free to send an e-mail describing what you would like based upon what you saw here. You can send requests for additional information, or just let me know how I can improve this website. Please include all important information in the letter so I can contact you promptly.

Shop Location:
1907 Hot Springs Road, Covington, Virginia - 24426 – This is 220 North approximately 1/2 mile from the city limits. You cant miss it - it's a HUGE white farm house right beside the road – so if you want to stop by, just give a call for detailed directions and an appointment.

Placing an order:
After our initial conversation concerning the design elements for the fly rod, I will send an e-mail quotation attached as a Word document or an Adobe .pdf file for your final approval. If the quote is accepted, please respond in writing by e-mail or standard letter and construction can begin as soon as my existing schedule allows. I am a one person operation with quality as a priority, so I will keep regular contact with the customer during the scheduling and construction of the rod. All prices include Federal Excise Taxes. All changes to an order must be made in writing and, changes may be subject to additional charges and a delay in delivery. Special pricing consideration will be given for multiple rods on any one order to the same address!!!

Payment Plans:
A non-refundable minimum of Fifty Percent (50%) of the total purchase price is required at time of ordering. When the fly rod is finished, a notice will be sent to the customer for the balance due and shipment will be made promptly after receipt of funds. Customer will be made aware of shipment date. Virginia residents are required to pay 5% Virginia Sales Tax.

I accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Cashier's Checks and PayPal. Sorry, but NO COD's, Traveler's checks or personal checks at this time. Those paying by PayPal, let me know and I will submit a PayPal invoice.

Delivery Schedule:
Being a one builder operation ensures the best of quality control. Also, being a one builder operation means I do not mass produce any of the rods. My goal is the highest quality and not the highest number of rods produced. With that in mind, delivery times are stated at the time of ordering. If unusual circumstances delay factory shipments or other situations beyond my control effect the delivery date of the finished rod, I will notify the customer promptly.

Method of Shipment: I use the US Postal service, insured, with delivery confirmation. At this time, I do not plan to ship outside the United States. Shipping charges will be listed in the price quotation. If the customer desires another method of shipment, this will be considered also.

Warranty: My goal is to deliver an excellent quality product, constructed from the highest quality components on the market, and ensuring the customer remains satisfied with the purchase. The manufacturer warrants the blanks and the components it produces and I warrant the construction of the finished product utilizing those components.

Since I do not mass produce any of these fly rods, I do not have the luxury of being able to offer a "no fault, no questions asked" warranty policy. Each rod is painstakingly constructed one at a time for the customer using blanks and components that I feel confident about when I build the fly rod. If I don't think it's good enough, I won't use it. When the rod leaves my shop, it's the best it can be!! BUT, if there is a concern, definitely inform me as soon as possible and between the two of us, a mutual agreement will be reached.

Tight Line Custom Rods warrants the construction of each fly rod to the original customer for a period of two years from the date of delivery. The blanks and components are warranted by their respective manufacturers for the time periods listed in their warranty statements.

I will work with the customer in accordance with the manufacturer's current warranties to resolve any issues of concern. If you would like to read the warranty details of each manufacturer, go to these sites, Rainshadow, Sage, G. Loomis , StCroix, Lamiglas for more information. If the manufacturer determines that they will not replace the blank in question, a fee for construction of a new fly rod will be assesed and delivered to the customer for approval. If the manufacturer does replace the blank in question, a new fly rod as close to the original as possible will be delivered to the customer. I must reserve the right to limit the full replacement option to one (1) replacement per customer, per rod purchased. The entire rod and all components, even if they are in pieces, along with the case must be returned to me to take the replacement option.

Delivery time for the replacement fly rod will be four to six weeks after the receipt of the new blanks. This warranty is limited to the original owner and is not transferable. The customer is responsible for all shipping charges to and from my shop and also to include the manufacturer's required charges as stated in their warranties.

Returns: Please realize that this rod is a custom built, personalized one-of-a-kind fly rod that you and I designed together and may not be suitable for someone else. So, unless I ship you the wrong fly rod, returns or trade-ins cannot be allowed.

Privacy Statement: My goal is to respect your privacy in all regards. I do not sell or distribute your personal information or e-mail address to any other company or organization. My purpose in requesting information such as name and address, telephone number, credit card number and e-mail is for communicating with my customers, to process and confirm orders, or in the event of a shipping or billing issue, to notify customers as efficiently as possible.
